Twisted Promises

Ever been asked to make a promise that is nearly impossible?

I'm the kind of person that won't break a promise unless it's totally unavoidable, or I've been released from it. Even then, I often can't bring myself to not complete it.

I've been asked to make promises that no one finds reasonable, that people wonder how I'm able to keep them. Twisted promises made to take a person and attempt to break their will.

Yet, here I am. Able to say in the modern world: "At least I am a man of my word. For whatever that's worth nowadays."

I keep them.
Twisted or not.

A promise is a promise. My word is my life. To break a promise, for me, is like shattering someone's dreams: It is cruel, and pointless.
